This is an entry level sales position. Prior retail experience is not necessary, however, experience working in a fast-paced environment with a customer service component will prove very useful in this position.

The Store Manager is responsible for a portion of the store's overall operations. This position requires leadership experience and phenomenal customer service skills. The Sales Manager will work very closely with the Service Manager in directing the performance of sales and service staff for their store.
Store Manager Responsibilities:
- Set the tone for the entire sales department.
- Responsible for every aspect of the sales department operations for your location.
- High-level sales ability
- Assist other sales staff when they are struggling with a difficult sale.
- Creates the sales staff schedule for your location.
- Inform sales staff regarding new policies, policy changes, new procedures, and procedure changes.
- Enforce the sales department policies.
- Maintain warranty policies and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain sales staff efficiency.

SERVICE CENTER POSITIONS
Level 1 Mechanic
This is an entry level position with no prior experience necessary. Strong mechanical aptitude and an eagerness to learn are required. After completion of training, must be able to consistently perform within Freewheel Bike’s quality control guidelines.
Level 1 Responsibilities:
- Bike builds on bikes valued up to $1000 retail value
- Attend ongoing training sessions to advance to L2 Mechanic

Level 2 Mechanic
This position is ideal for a mechanic with some industry experience and a basic understanding of accessory installation and quality control procedures.
Level 2 Responsibilities:
- Bike Builds ranging up to $4000 retail value
- OTD’s on new bikes
- Accessory Installation
- Flat fix (not tubular or tubeless)
- Basic adjustments (brakes, gears, bearings, wheel true)
- Attend ongoing training sessions to advance to L3 Mechanic

Level 3 Mechanic
This position requires a mechanic with multiple years experience or completion of Barnett’s or UBI courses.
Level 3 Responsibilities:
- Performing basic Tune-Ups
- Chain Sizing/installing
- Spoke Install
- Wrap handlebars (upon certification)
- Install Components
- Bike builds up to $6000 retail value

Level 4 Mechanic
This position requires a mechanic with multiple years experience or completion of Barnett’s or UBI courses and demonstrated competency in the tasks listed below.
Level 4 Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced Tune-Ups and Overhauls
- Wheel builds (not pro builds)
- Hydraulic brake bleeds
- Bearing overhauls
- Internal hub service

Service Lead
This position requires a mechanic with 5+ years experience and completion of Barnett’s, UBI, or equivalent courses. This specialist position also requires extensive training in all hydraulic and suspension systems.
Service Lead Responsibilities:
- Suspension service – all levels
- Hydraulic brake rebuilds
- Pro wheel builds
- Conduct training sessions

BENEFITS
Team Bonus
All Freewheel employees are eligible for monthly location team bonuses. When a shop successfully passes its sales goal for the month, each full-time staff member receives a bonus of $2 for every hour clocked that month. Part-time/seasonal staff will receive a bonus equal to $1.50 for every hour worked that month.
Training Bonus (All Staff)
Freewheel Bike offers a bonus equal to 10 hours of pay when you complete your Trek U training to Guide level within the first 30 days.
Commuter Credit (All Staff)
All employees are eligible to receive $0.25/mile commuted by bike, up to 20 miles per day. This is taxed as standard pay.
Employee Purchase (All Staff)
All employees have access to buy all merchandise we sell at wholesale cost+ 5%. Full-time employees may purchase two bikes per year from stock at the discounted price of cost-plus 5%. All staff bike purchases are subject to manager approval. Additionally, most brands we sell offer extended employee purchase discounts, ranging as high as 40% off wholesale, and those are open to all employees.
IRA Match (Full-Time Staff)
Freewheel offers a generous IRA matching contribution of up to 3% to all full-time employees with no vesting period.
Paid Time Off (Full-Time Staff)
PTO is accrued BY full-time employees at the rate of 3.077 per pay period at an annual rate of 80 hours. Unused PTO is carried forward with a max accrual of 80 hours.
Health Benefits (Full-Time Staff)
All full-time staff are eligible for health benefits, which Freewheel pays 70% of the monthly premium. Access to vision, dental, a health savings account, and a supplemental disability benefit plan are optional additions to the health plan.
