If you would like to ride with some of the friendly Freewheel Bike staff or ambassadors, we would be stoked to have you join us! Rides range from light to moderate, to blow-up-your-legs intense. Our goal is to have fun, challenge you, and cultivate a diverse and passionate riding community! If you are wondering if a ride will be canceled due to weather or trail conditions or whatever, you can check a ride's status on our Events Calendar. We will update the ride status in the details as soon as we know if a ride will be canceled. If there is no update then the ride is on.
Every Tuesday Night at 5:30 PM at Freewheel Bike Eden Prairie
Leader: Kevin Ishaug
45 -55 miles road ride; moderate to intense, spirited pace (avg 22MPH)
The route varies depending on the wind direction (we try to head out into the wind so we can finish with a tailwind!). The riding in the western suburbs offers scenic views of the lakes and rolling hills that dot the landscape. This is a great ride to test your fitness and learn how to ride safely in a fast paced group. Although this is a no-drop ride come ready to push yourself.
Every Wednesday Night at 6:00 PM at Freewheel Bike West Bank
Leader: John Easton and Matt Johnson
30 miles road ride; quick pace, no drop
Our route will vary from week to week but you can count on it always being awesome!
BEGINS WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24TH
Saturdays once a month at Freewheel Bike Midtown
Leaders: Anna Matthews and Patrick Knox
One Saturday each month we'll enjoy a 10-15 mile casual paced ride to a different dining venue. Be sure to check out our events page on Facebook for updates and details!
Every third Tuesday at Freewheel Bike Midtown
Leaders: John Hicks and Courtney Norman
We;ll go for a 10 mile-ish casually paced pedal fest to a locally owned eatery. We'll enjoy a tasty meal together and perhaps have a toast or two to celebrate our love of bikes and food.
Cycling is an inherently dangerous sport: Freewheel Bike and its representatives are not responsible in any way for any perceived or actual injury before, during, or after group rides. Please take personal responsibility for your own safety. Helmets are required for all rides. We will ride together in a warm up pace for first 5 miles of all rides. Obey all traffic laws including stop signs and traffic lights. We wait for all riders caught at stop signs or traffic lights and those who have mechanicals or flats. Never say "Clear!" Each person must determine if the road or traffic crossing is clear for them. It is courteous to point out obstacles such as cars, potholes or debris. Drafting is encouraged but be careful. Do not overlap the wheel in front of you. DO NOT 'HALF-WHEEL' IF YOU ARE RIDING SIDE BY SIDE ON THE FRONT! Keep a hand on your rear brake at all times. Watch out ahead of you. Avoid sudden moves left and right and sudden braking or acceleration. NEVER INTERACT WITH OR CONFRONT MOTORISTS. No rider will be intentionally left behind. Ride leaders reserve the right to dismiss or reject riders that display unsafe or dangerous behavior, demonstrate poor bicycle handling skills, or are utilizing faulty/unsafe equipment.
