With big 29-inch wheels, fully modern geometry, and 145mm of rear Virtual Pivot Point (VPP) suspension balanced with a 150mm-travel fork, the Hightower is almost always in its element. All these artificial, nit picky, uber specific riding genres mean nothing to Hightower–it's made for all-around mountain biking, kitchy labels be damned.

Thanks to the combination of VPP's extreme tunability and the bike’s balanced ambitions, Hightower has always been easy to get on with. Now in it’s third iteration, Santa Cruz has evolved the bike’s kinematics as well, resulting in truly refined on-trail performance.
SAG WINDOW
When Santa Cruz moved to a lower link-driven shock configuration, everything about their bikes got better…except the ability to see how much sag you were running. With the addition of their new sag window, the issue is solved and setting sag is a snap.
PROPORTIONAL GEOMETRY
Proportional geometry means that certain attributes are scaled up as the frame size gets larger so that whatever your stature, there is no compromise when it comes to fit, balance and suspension performance. The larger the frame, the longer the Hightower's chainstay length, and the steeper the effective seat tube angle.
